Course Overview:

Psychology is an introduction to the scientific study of human behavior and mental processes.

·      The course will introduce to the major theories, methods, and findings of modern psychology to beginning students.

·      Topics include: research methods, biological psychology, sensation & perception, learning, memory, cognition & language, intelligence, development, personality, abnormal behavior, treatment, and social psychology.

·    Students will understand how a psychological perspective provides insight into human behaviors

·    Students will understand the important concepts, theoretical perspectives, research methods, and research findings in psychology.

·    Students will become a knowledgeable consumer of psychological research and findings and be able to think critically about topics in psychology
