Summer School Options

Earn ONE quarter Health OR Fitness credit during Summer School with MPS Online!

We are happy to announce that MPS Online will be offering Health and Fitness this summer! 

MPS Online offers Health or Fitness during a three-week period during the summer online. Students will have the opportunity to register for ONE class either Health or Fitness during the three-week period. One class, is worth .25 quarter credit upon receiving a passing grade of A, B, C, D.

Students will have the opportunity to complete assignments online through the learning platform Odysseyware as well as work on assignments asynchronously with teacher support via virtual office hours, four days a week Monday-Thursday or Tuesday- Friday, time is to be determined by teacher. Students may access assignments anytime outside the four days as needed to complete assignments as needed. Attendance is taken my login and logout times, five days without accessing assignments will drop your student from the course and will receive an "F" grade. 

Rising 9th graders through high school seniors are eligible to participate with graduating seniors as priority. This course is only for students who will be taking the course for the first time. Students who need to re-take health or fitness will need to speak with their counselor to do credit recovery with extended learning during summer school as requirements may differ. 

Summer Health or Fitness is on a first come, first served basis therefore there is only a start date for registration as our session fills up quickly, therefore our links may be removed at any time without notice. 

Important Dates and Information:

  • Registration links will be posted on June 13th mid-morning and will be removed when we meet our limited number of spaces available. Students and Families, please do not forget to complete the embedded tinyurl for your student’s counselor’s approval. Rising 9th graders, your 8th grade counselor can approval your Health or Fitness class, therefore enter their information and I will reach out to them.
  • You may register for only one quarter class of Heath or Fitness. Entering more than one quarter will delay enrollment.
  • Summer classes begin Tuesday, June 28th-July 14th. Both Health and Fitness will be through Odysseyware. You will receive an email before June 24th regarding your acceptance.
  • Fitness requirements: You must be active a minimum of 75 minutes per day, six times a week and be able to show you were active by: health log, activity tracker, smart phone app, parent and or coach log etc… if you cannot commit at minimum please do not sign up.
  • Health and Fitness will be asynchronous with virtual office hours held Tuesdays-Fridays due to Mondays being "teacher grading day" and "July 4th holiday.” Office hours will be flexible and alternate between the hours of 8:30am-12:30pm and 1-5pm. Please read your teacher’s syllabus.
  • MPS Online will not have a counselor during the summer. All inquiries can be made to our office at 612.668.1450 or via email to our general inbox at or to our teacher after student’s receive the “Welcome” email.

Summer Health and Fitness is now closed.  We have reached our limited number of students and are no longer accepting anymore students. Please take a look at our dual enrollment opportunities. Tentative date have been posted. Thank you for understanding. 

Remember, please only sign up for one quarter of Health OR Fitness to minimize confusion. You(r) student will receive a “Welcome” email from MPS Online AND the health/fitness teacher prior to the first day of summer school (June 28th) IF you(r) student made the cut off.
