High School Mathematics
Insulting Numbers / Via

Students are required to take three years of high school mathematics to meet graduation requirements for Minneapolis Public Schools. Mathematics courses are designed to strengthen problem solving skills and prepare students for the future.We believe all students deserve to learn important and challenging mathematics, thus becoming competent and confident problem solvers!

Please feel free to look at the student work posted on the right side bar. It will help to give you an idea of work you will be doing and tools we use.

Intermediate Algebra

Satisfactory completion of this course meets the state 9-12 mathematics standards and credit requirements for Algebra. This course is an introductory course stressing problem solving using the language of algebra. Algebraic solutions communicate mathematical ideas with clarity and precision. The following topics will be addressed:

  • signed numbers
  • real numbers
  • data analysis and probability
  • formulas
  • factoring
  • linear and quadratic equations
  • graphing
  • radicals
  • problem solving

Grade 9
Prerequisites: None

Quarter Credit: .25
